Lets Talk Mission

Refreshment UK have been involved in short-term missions for nearly three decades and have

provided trips across the world to give people an experience of what it means to be on mission.

 

Since 2016, they have based their mission programme back in the UK and been training people from

their centre in Blackpool to find the mission field on the doorstep. Working in the North-West, they

have partnered with 39 churches locally to deliver events and activities that are obvious in the gospel,

bless the local church and engage directly with the culture. They do this regularly from some of the

town’s most famous locations, including Blackpool Tower, The Winter Gardens and Stanley Park, and

have excellent relationships with local organisations like Blackpool Council, BID and Torch.

 

Over a thousand people have visited Blackpool for mission experiences in the last ten years and many have had a life-changing visit to the area, discovering that with God, nothing is impossible. Mission has become possible for both church groups and individuals.

 

In every area, we have a key church as our main partner who help disciple and The Well Church Blackpool provides this. They are a Baptist Church, members of Partners in Harvest and Global Horizons. Every hub we plant has a key church at the centre, with a passion for working alongside other churches.

 

Our passion is about helping churches to get people over the threshold – both ways. By bringing people from our mission work to the local church and in turn, helping the army of ordinary people in the church to discover that God can use them in his work.

 

How can Refreshment UK support your mission?

We are able to offer support in mission experiences in 3 ways:

• Visit on Mission – we are passionate about bringing front-line mission to the UK and we can arrange a mission trip for your church, which will inspire you to transform your community. We have a base in Blackpool, as well as long-term plans for seven further mission hubs across the UK that can welcome church groups and individuals to spend a week or weekend experiencing mission; 

• Host a Mission – alongside a partner church, we have seen how much people grow when they come together for mission and how people who don’t feel that God can use them discover new gifts and skills. Over a week or weekend, we can deliver a programme that combines inspiring teaching, outreach activities and community building tailored to your local area. This would leave a church both greatly encouraged and equipped;

• Make Mission Vision Reality – In Blackpool, many people have come to us with ideas on how to do something bigger across churches in unity. Do you dream of a worship event in your local park? How about a prayer meeting in your local football stadium? At Refreshment UK, we know that nothing is impossible with God and have the resources, support and experience to help make these happen.
